Already owners of The Soccer Shop in Hamilton, owners Martyn and Debbie saw the opportunity to better service the growing Bay of Plenty Soccer scene with a new shop dedicated to “The Beautiful Game” in Stage 2 of Mount Maunganui’s Bayfair Extension Project.
Total Fit-outs were already on board to fit-out their shop, but they needed a Retail Designer to manage the Mall’s design approval process, and to manage the building consent application that would be required… so Bubble Interiors were engaged to pull together their ideas into a cohesive Retail Design.
They were keen on a really industrial look, and wanted to use a variety of raw, natural materials for interest, so different zones were created with the use of different wall claddings as backdrops to the product display... red brick, rough sawn timber and checker-plate aluminium.
In addition to the raw polished concrete floor throughout most of the shop Martyn and Debbie were really keen to use turf grass as flooring in the boots area for a more realistic “trying-on” experience, and here we used mirrored fronts to built-in seating (that doubles as storage) as well as staggered seating plinths as a nod to stadium seating.
