Behind every successful person is a substantial amount of coffee and behind every successful café is a beautifully designed fit out!
Having roasted in Tauranga for 20 years, Excelso wanted to start from scratch for their cafe space with natural materiality that felt fresh, clean, light and bright.
Wanting to complete a fast facelift before summer trading, the owners engaged us to help them achieve maximum impact for their set budget. The result was a much more modern, fresh space.
2016 saw Papamoa Plaza extending their offering with a new foodcourt. Bubble Interiors were engaged by existing tenants Sushi Time to relocate them from their dated kiosk to a prominent corner foodcourt tenancy, and at the same time re-brand them as Smile Sushi :)
We managed the mall's design approval process, prepared all the drawings and co-ordinated services consultants for building consent, and tendered the building and relocation works to get the client the best price for their new fit-out.
One of the first to sign up for Papamoa Plaza's brand new foodcourt, Zad Kebabs wanted to create something totally different from their existing premise in Hamilton for their new tenancy in the Bay.
Bubble Interiors managed the whole process for the client - from concept design, managing the mall's approval process, preparing all the drawings and co-ordinating services consultants for building consent, tendering the fit-out works, arranging signage, and procuring feature lighting and the stunning tiles for the kiosk frontage.
Hot Woks also took the leap to open in Papamoa Plaza's brand new foodcourt extension. They engaged Bubble Interiors to sort the building consent and the mall's design approval process; and to co-ordinate fresh new graphics by Design Juice.
“Using proper designers to help with our restaurant was the best thing we could have done. I had ideas of what I wanted but knew I didn’t have the skills to put it together myself… I just knew it was very important to get it right, and with the flair that I wanted.
Bubble Interiors have done an amazing job and we are really happy with the finished result!” Phil Lipscombe – Owner
We helped these clients from start to finish - from guidance of a suitable tenancy to lease, comparing potential tenancies with space planning and sketch perspectives; preparing the required drawings and managing the building consent process, through to applying the wall decals and hanging frames once the fit-out was complete.

“Bubble Interiors were very easy to work with. The whole process was very smooth and nothing was too much of a problem for them… they just organised and managed the whole process for us.
What we have achieved with the Sir Tristram Lounge is an amazing venue. We used to call this room the dungeon, and no one wanted to come in here. It’s now been transformed into a room that we WANT to use, it’s brilliant.”
