CONSULTING

Your environment is a bubble... reflecting you, your people, and your brand.

HEY THERE

I've always been super passionate about spending time up front, pre-design, to really understand a business, their brand and their people.

I believe it's crucial to know how the team interact and use the space, and what the long term goals of the company are; to be able to achieve a successful, functional outcome for the business.

In my experience, the most successful spaces, with the most positive culture change, have been the businesses who understand the value of investing up front in really thorough design strategy and briefing processes.

These are the businesses who truly value their staff and their opinions, and are open to involving them in the vision and brief creation for how a new space should and could function to better support them in productive work practices.

HOW CAN I HELP YOU?

It's hard to see what's going on in your business when you're in the thick of it.

Having an independant consultant come in, and look at things with fresh (experienced) eyes, and ask questions that you and your team may not have even thought of, can be hugely beneficial to giving you some perspective on what you REALLY need from a new workplace.

WHAT IS STRATEGIC BRIEFING?

Strategic Briefing is the process of taking the time (pre-design) to get really clear on how a business currently operates, what's working, what's not working, and the desired outcomes for a new workspace.

The Strategic Briefing process would ideally start with an Executive Vision Session to get alignment within the Executive Team, and to understand the key drivers behind the project to establish a clear vision for the business to be able to measure success against later.

We would then send out an Online Survey to all staff... to get an overview of their  perceptions of their current workspace environment, and to gauge the performance and allocation of current meeting spaces and support facilities.

Why? Because to get to where you want to go, you need to know exactly where you're at! The confidential responses to these can sometimes be an eye opener, but are a great way to get really honest feedback, and to establish a benchmark from which to improve; and to measure success against later.

From there, I always HIGHLY recommend that the business teams are involved in Staff Workshop Sessions.

These are a fantastic way to involve the team in an interactive format to shift their thinking and get them engaged in the process. The sessions get their perspective on the company brand and culture; how they currently work, and how they WANT to work. We'd also further investigate some of the issues and ideas raised in the online survey, with ideas for better ways of working encouraged.

This makes them feel heard, and results in much greater buy in to change and disruption later.

Briefing should also always include more Functional Briefing... understanding filing + storage requirements, and interviews with the receptionists/admin staff, and IT team, to understand how all these key areas function.
